In this episode we address one of the biggest health challenges in our world today: How to lose weight. Rather than just giving more tips and strategies, we’re first going discuss why your typical plan for weight loss is not working.

In this episode you’ll learn:

  • How calorie restriction actually effects your body (this is HUGE!)
  • Why nutrient deficiency will to continuous overeating.
  • What your “Metabolic Machinery” is and how to protect it.
  • What the worst form of exercise is (if you’re metabolism is damaged).
  • Why a certain mindset shift can cause you to fail or succeed long-term.
  • How important the scale truly is for weight loss.
  • What impact your hormones have on weight loss and tips to optimize them

OMG. I related to everyone of these 5 points. At one time or another I have been all inside of one of these points. The calorie counting, having a trainer beat me up in the gym, wanting change to happen at the drop of a hat, shifting my environment and my mental state etc. It feels good to know I am not alone. You hit the nail right on the head. Shout out to Jade!!! I love you guys.

      Thanks, Whitney!

Thanks for giving this information, Shawn. I too, as you know, have been all over the board back in the day, from hardly eating a thing to over- cardio-izing (yes made that word up ;-))and it feels good to be back on track. It did have a huge impact on my health, but learning correctly from you has been a true blessing. Thank you for what you do!! 🙂

I receive that, Traci, and thank YOU so much for being such an amazing, dare I say, protege. 😉 And I absolutely love the new word “over-cardio-izing… I’m going to use it, if that’s alright with you of course.

…..and I graciously hand the new word over to you to use as you please. Lol. 😉

Wow Shawn, I listened to your Podcast today and it was truly fascinating. As you know I’m going through some serious health issues which has not only done a number on my body , but my mind as well. The information I received from you today was so informative and uplifting for me. I am going to keep listening, keep in touch and really “study health” as you said. I’ve been doing that a bit already but your words made me decide to be much more proactive. Thank you so much! Renee

I am learning so much! When I began my Vegan journey, I lost 8 pounds in less than 2 months without exercise. I did not start this to lose weight. What stuck with me after reading your book, I learned 98% of diets FAIL! So, what about these 100 calorie snack packs? Are these not good for people? I think the hardest part for people are the fact that their bodies and their minds have not intertwined and both are not on the same page. This is a cognitive-behavioral battle. I had to start with my brain first and my body definitely followed! I’m feeling great!

Wow, Rochelle that’s so awesome to hear! You’re on to something with the “100 calorie” MARKETED snack packs… As I touched on in the show, the calories don’t matter anywhere near as much as the hormonal impact the food has on your body.

I LOVED this show! I’ve read a fair amount about health and nutrition but was still under the spell of lower calories and cardio. What an enlightening and empowering show this was. Instead of spinning my wheels, not knowing exactly how to synthesize the information I’ve learned over the years, I feel like I’ve found a real guide. And the part about transforming your identity was a huge piece for me. I’ve gone back and forth with my diet and health alot, and a part of it is/was an unwillingness (subconsciously) to let go of an old idea/image of myself and fear of stepping fully into my greatness, afraid of people’s opinions, judgements, and ideas. Even embarking on this cleanse, I realize how much people like to chime in about what I should and shouldn’t do with MY body, even if they’re the most non-nutritious eaters ever. I’m ready though. The time is now. So thanks Shawn, for this show and for everything you’re doing and sharing. And you have a great voice!

Kerri, first of all you are an AMAZING person to be able to be able to make the shifts you have in your identity (when so many other people never actually get to that place). You truly are a rock star! You brought up so many valid points that so many other people are confronted with when trying to transform their mind and body, so thank you for sharing that. And thank you for the compliment. If you think I have a great voice now, just wait til you hear me sing lol. Thanks so much, Kerri!

This Model Show’s episode is real information to shape one’s mind to shape one’s body…for life. Over the years information on metabolic tricks and training tips have been consistent with inconsistency. The information “they” gave us was as temporary as their results. The information you deliver here is applicable without complication and confusion. There is longevity in your material and OUR results!! Your work allow the individual to own their individual power.

Your recommendations teach us how to care for our self on the correct level- mind and body. The mind-body connection approach is one you understand and are able to eloquently teach.

Another episode and your energy and words are still so fresh! Your sound, your passion, your drive is one that will change the world.

Thank you for creating and sharing this great podcast with us. It looks like I have a long way to go to catch up and lots of information to learn.

It sounds like drinking lots of water is going to be a big theme for being healthy. One quick question that comes to mind is… Does coffee count as drinking water?

Thanks again for sharing all of your knowledge!!
