TMHS 041: Improve Your Digestion, Assimilation, and Elimination (And Poop Like A Champion!)

In this episode of The Model Health Show we’re talking about the all too taboo subject of pooping. It’s something that everybody does, but most people never talk about it. Your digestion and colon health are truly important keys to longevity and overall wellness. If you’re not eliminating waste properly, it’s only a matter of time before a huge problem shows up.

In today’s show we’re going to cover some critical tips to improve your digestive health and elimination immediately. One of the biggest issues today is not knowing how to poop in the first place (not kidding). We all poop. It’s natural. But in our modern society we’re trained to poop in a way that’s abnormal and can lead to some serious health issues.

From the proper pooping position, to optimal nutrition, to emotional issues surrounding digestion, we’ve got it all for you right now!

In this episode you’ll discover:

  • Why talking about poop is such a taboo subject.
  • What the puborectalis muscle is and how it controls your bowels.
  • What our natural pooping position is.

  • What your toilet paper use can tell you about your ability to eliminate properly.
  • How poor elimination is connected to colon cancer.
  • What “epigenetics” means and how it influences your life.
  • What important (and overlooked) functions your colon has.

wow, no comments here? man this was the story of my life, I never felt like I could speak my mind. So developed IBS. and doctors always said, the mind was never connected. still on the internet, they often don’t make the mind body connection.
until I gave myself permission and tell myself “im alright” did my symptoms go away. after 27 years, I finally have a handle on it. great to hear the affirmation of mind, emotion and body.

Great show, Shawn! I’ve been using a footstool for years in the bathroom – hate to be without it when we travel.

Traveling: easy fix, I turn my “easyGOpro” upside down and toss shoes inside (its hollow) and then socks, hairdryer, pack other things around it and it disappears and I’m off with it inside of my tote bag. It weighs nothing much so you would never know it is there.

It seems like no matter how healthy I eat, I still have a poop issue.

About once a month, I have a major “poop purge” consisting of sludge-like poop that almost fills the bowl. And when I think it is over, I get up, and then I am right back in there for another round. It goes on for about 30 minutes, then it is over and I am left with some cramping feeling in my lower abdomen for about an hour. So strange! After listening to this podcast, I am going to greatly increase my vegetable intake, although almost all veggies give me terrible gas. I’ll take PAN enzymes more religiously too.
