Remember when you were a kid and your mom would bring you hot soup when you were sick? What about when you fell down and she put a band-aid on for you, and the pain you were in instantly began to go away?
What is it about these circumstances that helps to nurse you back to health so quickly?
These are the moments in healing that we often take for granted, but it’s these very moments that we are stimulating our highest epigenetic expression.
Touching, hugging, and loving is physiologic and scientific. For example, massaging induces the release of serotonin in the body, which helps regulate sleep, appetite, memory and learning, body temperature, muscle function, endocrine function, and cardiovascular function.
A remarkable study showed that premature babies given 15-minute daily massages grew 47 percent faster than those who did not receive massages.
Love and the human touch is the most important developmental factor of all, and it applies whether you are 9 days old or 90 years old.

This concludes that whether we’re married or not, the quality of our relationships help keep us alive.
Recently I was in a training accident where I injured my SI joint (hip socket) which left me unable to lift my hips off the ground without excruciating pain. If I could best describe it I’d say that it felt as if my lower body was literally cut away from my upper body.
I’m like a lot of guys, and very hard-headed when it comes to pain, but when several days went by and the pain just got worse, I had to honestly tell my wife that I was in pain when she asked me how I felt, rather than the usual cover up of, “I’m fine.” As soon as I was smart enough to entrust in my wife, that’s when she stepped in to make sure that I’d be back to 100 percent.
She did EVERYTHING for me. She drove me around to chiropractic appointments, handled all of my business calls, made my food, helped me with my physical therapy, did my ice packs and heat packs, watched over me and helped me when I needed, and most importantly, she told me each night before I went to bed that I’d be better in the morning.
It has a serious injury, but just a couple of weeks later she was right. Something that could have had me down for 6 to 8 weeks (or longer) was 100% better in 1/4 of the time. I recovered from one of the toughest experiences of my life, and I owe it all to my lady for having my back when I needed her.
All of this controversy about food and medicine is sweeping the nation, while the most powerful healing tool in the world is repeatedly overlooked.
I am here to take a stand to help us remember what’s most important on this day of love. Remember that no matter how difficult and painful things may seem, the power of love can always bring you back to health.
