The 3 Hidden Food Additives That Are Blocking Your Weight Loss Success
There is a huge problem that the majority of people in our society are having with weight loss, and it’s not from a lack of trying. People are genuinely putting in their heart and effort to lose their unwanted weight, but it is simply not yielding the results that they want. In my practice as a professional nutritionist I’ve seen this situation hundreds of times when my clients come to see me. And I’ve also been fortunate enough to see the most incredible weight loss successes when my clients actually find out what’s been blocking them from achieving the weight loss that they’ve wanted.
It’s simply that the majority of the products that they were consuming (unknown to them) contain the very substances that are designed by nature to keep the extra weight on them (ESPECIALLY many of the low calorie “weight-loss” products on the market). I’m going to share with you the 3 main culprits, to help you avoid them and get the upper hand on your fat loss victory.
1. High Fructose Corn Syrup:
This is a highly processed sweetener many nutritionists have deemed the major culprit in the nation’s obesity crisis. High fructose corn syrup is not absorbed by the body the same way as a natural sugar. It basically causes our brain function and the secretion of insulin by our pancreas to become disoriented. It also forces the liver to push more fat into the blood stream. What essentially happens is our bodies are tricked into wanting to eat more while simultaneously storing more fat. Studies have shown high fructose corn syrup to be one of the main contributing factors of Type II-Adult Onset Diabetes.
2. Hydrogenated & Partially Hydrogenated Oils: Also known as Trans Fat.
Hydrogenation is the process for making plastic. Food manufacturers actually process the oils to produce a plastic fat to make the delicate oils harden and stay in their food to extend the products shelf life, add calorie content, and “enhance the flavor” of their food. Hydrogenated oils build plaque in the arteries, raise cholesterol and triglyceride levels (blood fats), and cause massive free radical activity, which accelerates the aging process. Hydrogenated oils are linked to heart disease, cancer, diabetes, birth defects, obesity, strokes, multiple sclerosis, gallstones…the list goes on and on.
3. MSG (Monosodium Glutamate):
This is a neurotoxin that directly damages nerve cells, over-stimulating them to the point of death. MSG and other dangerous neurotoxins such as aspartame are known as excitotoxins. They are added to countless foods and beverages to “enhance the flavor” of the over-processed, lifeless foodstuffs. MSG is scientifically proven to cause obesity. It is a highly addictive substance and has been labeled as “Nicotine for Food.” But here’s the tricky part about MSG, it’s legal for manufacturers to hide MSG on product labels under several different ingredient names. Hydrolyzed vegetable protein, textured protein, autolyzed yeast, calcium caseinate, “flavoring,” and “spices” are just a portion of the titles used to hide MSG.
Countless studies have linked MSG to diabetes, autism, ADHD, migraines, and Alzheimer’s disease. The commonality of all of these debilitating illnesses is that they are all related to the malfunctioning of your brain.
What is truly staggering is that at least one of these lethal food additives are in nearly all conventionally processed, packaged food items. However, as the public’s awareness to the debilitating effects of these ingredients has grown, more and more manufacturers are beginning to take them out of their products. But it kind of makes you wonder why they put them in there in the first place? The straightforward answer is: To get you to buy more of their products. Everybody wants to be successful in their business, but to do it at the expense of millions and millions of people’s lives clearly shows the misalignment that our society has been subjected to for many years.
It’s simply about becoming more aware, and to become more conscious of what we are feeding our family and what we are putting in our own bodies.
